The Socializing of the Peruvian Hairless Dog

As already mentioned, the Peruvian Hairless Dog is very sociable and a perfect family dog. He gets along well with children and also makes friends with his peers and other pets. However, since he prefers a quiet living space, he is not always suitable for living with small children.

The Viringo is rather reserved towards strangers and sometimes also suspicious due to its territorial and protective nature. However, Peruvian hairless dogs are not fearful or aggressive. If you want to introduce them to a cat or other pet, it’s important to introduce them to each other slowly and correctly.

Caution: If friends with children come to visit, you should not leave the Viringo alone with the little ones. He might misinterpret a harmless game and think he must protect his own family’s children from danger.
