Since a Sloughi has a certain hunting instinct, socializing with a cat can present a challenge. Due to Sloughi’s instincts, a cat could be repeatedly teased by the dog, which can ultimately result in a stressful coexistence or, in the worst case, even injury.
However, if your Sloughi is socialized with a cat from a young age, socialization should not be a problem.
A Sloughi is generally considered fond of children and is the ideal family dog for many pet owners. His cuddly nature should bring a lot of joy to children. However, you should make sure that you give your Sloughi enough space and places to retreat, as too much noise or stress can worry your dog.
A Sloughi is best suited for owners who lead an active life themselves and have plenty of time for long and demanding walks in nature. A Sloughi could clearly overwhelm seniors because only a busy greyhound behaves calmly and evenly within their own four walls.
Socialization with other dogs should normally take place without problems with good training and socialization. As previously mentioned, a Sloughi tends to be aloof toward other dogs.
