You Need:
- 6 l water
- cereal
- 500 grams, approx., Boneless beef or elk meat
- 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil
- 4 potatoes
- 4 carrots
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 liter of meat broth
- 1/2 small cabbage head
Directions:
- Boil the water, add the barley groats and lower the temperature and let the groats simmer under a lid for about 30 minutes or until all the water has boiled in. Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside.
- Cut the meat into small cubes, peel and grate the carrots and peel and dice the potatoes.
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the pieces of meat until they have a nice color. Add the crushed tomatoes and the meat broth and bring to a boil.
- Add carrots and potatoes and let the stew
simmer under a lid for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, shred the cabbage. - Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the barley groats and shredded cabbage.
- Serve the stew with cooked pasta or well-cooked rice. Rice for dogs should boil for a long time and with more water than usual, take 5 parts water to 1 part rice and let it cook for at least 30 minutes.
- The casserole is fine to freeze in portion forms.
