#4 As you can imagine, fishing was important in the region. And so these dogs were used as working animals in fishing. So it’s no wonder that the Newfoundland still has a great weakness for water, right?

#5 The Newfoundland dog is still used for work on and in the water. Especially in the dog rescue squadron, this breed of dog is a popular companion.

#6 But the gentle giant is also becoming increasingly popular as a family dog, because it is considered to be particularly child-friendly and loves being part of a family.
