19 fapte interesante despre Border Collies

#4 A few years later, Queen Victoria, on a tour of the country, saw Border Collies and they caught her eye.

She wanted several of them and fell in love with them at first sight. Since then, Queen Victoria became a keen admirer of the breed. In 1876, Lloyd Price-another breed enthusiast, but not of royal descent-brought along 100 sheep to demonstrate the Border Collie breed's capabilities, putting on quite a show.

#5 The task was for the dogs, without any special commands, to guide the flock of sheep in the right direction.

They coped with this task perfectly, with the only commands being the sound of a whistle and the waving of the hands. After such a demonstration, the popularity of the breed skyrocketed and its fame began to spread rapidly outside Britain. Despite such a long history, the American Kennel Club did not recognize these dogs until 1995.

#6 The Border Collie breed is large and has lots of long, thick hair. The muzzle is elongated and the ears are folded. The limbs are long and the tail is also long, saber-shaped and fluffy.
