#4 One could correctly translate it as “cotton dog from Toliara”. Its special, long coat is striking, which is reminiscent of cotton and, like this, should always be white.
According to the genetic map of dog breeds, the Coton is more closely related to the Poodle than the other Bichons. This is an indication that white Miniature Poodles were once crossed.
#5 The Coton de Tuléar was first used for pedigree breeding in France in the 1970s.
Some dog lovers like to smile at lap dogs like the Coton de Tuléar and sometimes even see them as a "maldevelopment" in today's society. But far from it. They have an extremely important function and utility; because such dogs are simply good for our psyche.
