Never Leave Your Dog Alone in the Car
Dogs and other animals should not be left alone in the car in hot weather, even for a few minutes. Even if the car is parked in the shade and the sky appears cloudy, it can change quickly. Opening the window is not enough. Cars quickly heat up to temperatures of up to 50 degrees – a death trap for the animals in them.
Take a Walk When It’s a Little Cooler
In hot weather, go out with your dog before 8 or after 8 o’clock. If your dog needs to pee during the day, walk in the shade.
You can walk in the woods. Because there your dog, unlike in open areas, is not exposed to the unprotected exposure of the sun but is in the shade of trees.
Check If the Ground is Too Hot
There is an easy way to check if the floor is so hot that your dog cannot walk on it without pain. Just touch the floor with your hands for a few seconds. If the ground is too hot, don’t let your dog run on it.
