#4 Puppies that lighten before the age of one year often turn gray rather than blue.
The hair is a deep steel blue from head to tail tip - sometimes referred to as the blue of the gun barrel - with a bluish tinge in sunlight.
#5 The head is bright golden, not reddish, with light brown hair that is darker at the roots than at the ends.
The hairfall (the hair that falls on the face) is long and has the same golden tones as the face.
#6 The hair is slightly darker at the base of the ears and on the muzzle.
The tan of the head does not extend over the ears and there are no black hairs in them. Yorkshire Terriers also have tanned legs, but the color does not extend beyond the elbow. An interesting fact is that the Yorkshire breed lightens with age.
