#8 A special trademark of the breed is the absolute calmness and independence in every type of training. However, the Afghan hound is extremely sensitive and can be very suspicious of strangers if not cared for properly.
This hound breed is therefore less suitable as a beginner's dog: the sensitive nature combined with the pronounced hunting instinct make good training not easy. But if you have experience with such dogs and know how to deal with them, the Afghan will gladly submit to its owner.
