What mother would not hesitate to let her child walk up to a Rottweiler or German Shepherd to pet them? Unfortunately, the “Lassie” image meant that all Collies “must” be good. Most people forget that these are dogs whose personalities must be respected and blame the collie for the consequences of their own ignorance.
