Let Go and Play!

Play with your puppy as often as you can and as varied as possible. It is the best way for a small dog to learn about life.

Have you just brought your puppy home and are wondering who the little crab really is? Then you should set aside time only for play. Through play, you get to know each other in the best way and that lays the foundation for a strong relationship. In addition, play is an excellent school for a small dog just as it is for children. The puppy learns to hunt, use his body, snout, solve problems and read signals from other dogs and humans.

As a new dog owner, it may feel strange to throw yourself on the floor and play with an animal. What really amuses a four-legged crab? Study your dog when it plays with species friends and you will get a sense of what it appreciates and how you can do to be just as fun to hang out with. Also, think about what kind of dog you have. What race or races are there in your particular comrade? Some breeds are triggered by a little resistance, others love speed to hunt, carry or tear and pull. And even if you feel a little uncomfortable, it’s time to dump her and move on. Release the requirements. It can not go wrong because there is nothing better for a dog than hanging out with you. You are number one and a moment of play with your mistress or master can be the best reward your dog can get.

However, as long as the puppy is small, you should play carefully. Play only for short moments and when you yourself really feel like it and think it’s fun. Then you send out the right signals. Avoid hunting games because they teach the puppy that it always wins and gets away. However, you should be physical. Take the puppy, fool around and wrestle. Be resourceful. Make sure the walks are full of surprises. Play your favorite game in a different environment.

Toys can also be worth acquiring. But a ball and a discarded old sock go a long way.

Tip!

Remember that you are in control of the game. Always make sure you have clear signals for when the game starts. Play for ten minutes at a time, for example on three occasions each day.

6 Fun Puppy Places

Chew

Buy a chewing gum and hide in the garden. All puppies like to chew and have the opportunity to use their nose to find it will be a nice bonus.

Tug of war

To be able to bite, pull and fight for a sock or a towel is unbeatable for a small dog. Let the puppy hunt and grab the object and then pull in different directions.

Hide and Seek

Hide behind a rock, under the covers in bed, or behind the sofa. Call on the dog and praise generously when the dog finds you.

Make a track

Drag a sausage across the kitchen floor or put small pieces of sausage in your footsteps on the lawn. Put the dog in front of the first piece of sausage and let the dog discover how fun it is to follow the trail.

Pretend dog

Lie on the floor and pretend to be a dog. Cuddle, growl, squeak. Let the dog climb on you. Use your imagination.

Hide toy

Let the dog use his nose and hide his favorite toy under a pillow in the living room or high up on a rock outdoors. The dog can sniff, climb and use both body and head.

That’s Why Play is so Important!

Through play, the puppy explores the world.

If you play with the puppy, you strengthen the relationship.

If you and the puppy have the habit of playing, you have learned to cooperate. You benefit from it all your life.

Play strengthens the self-confidence of the rescued puppy.
