#4 At the birthplace of the species, the basenji was prized for its high intelligence, loyalty to its owner and unsurpassed hunting qualities. Breeders have always been impressed by the absence of an annoying ear barking.

#5 In 1895 the four-legged hounds were brought to the UK, where they were introduced to the public. Unfortunately, the amazing creatures did not tolerate the road and died soon after the move.

#6 The Basenji is an unusual dog.

Its owners value it for its intelligence, character, good eyesight and sensitive hearing. However, the main difference between the breed and its brethren is the absence of barking.
