He protects the people he loves and is often suspicious of strangers until you let him know that they are welcome. He’s a great watchdog, sometimes to your frustration, and warns you of visitors, burglars, and branches. Its bark can be piercing. No golden retriever, won’t lick a burglar in greeting; he will make sure you fully understand the seriousness of the situation.
