#10 The most famous progenitor of modern boarders is the Old Hemp Shepherd, in 1893 in Northumberland.

The strong tricolor handsome man was distinguished by outstanding intelligence and exemplary behavior, for which he was selected as a producer for the mating sequence. It was the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of old Hemp who achieved their first success at exhibitions, becoming prize-winners of international and European championships.

#11 Another famous representative of the breed is the dog Winston, recognized as the official symbol of the boarder lovers club. According to breeders, all modern individuals carry Winston genes.

#12 In the FCI system the breed was registered in 1977 in the “Sheepdogs” section from the “Shepherd and Cattle Dogs” group.
