How To Draw A Lion

THE KING OF ANIMALS

After the zebra, today we have another representative of the savannah: the lion. Majestic and strong, that’s how we know this proud animal. Its homeland is in Africa. There it is the largest predator and feeds mainly on antelope, wildebeest, buffalo, and zebra. Many people love lions because they are considered strong, brave, and beautiful. Are you also a fan of this animal? Then you will certainly be very happy about today’s drawing instructions. However, the motive is not very simple. So it may take you several tries before your lion looks really good. You will definitely make a good impression with a lion you have drawn yourself. So it’s definitely worth it!

HOW TO DRAW A LION

Step 1: Start with an oval for the body and a smaller circle for the head.

Step 2: Draw small circles at equal intervals. That’s where the lion’s feet will be later. There are also two ears and a nose.

Step 3: Four more circles later form the joints of the lion. Pay particular attention to the distances and position here, otherwise, the legs will not look good later.

Step 4: Complete the details. The mane can be drawn freely and jagged. With the legs, on the other hand, accuracy is required again.

Step 5: As soon as you have finished drawing all the legs, you can erase the circles again. We don’t need them anymore. If you are satisfied, you can trace the picture nicely with a black fineliner. Then first erase all the pencil lines.

Step 6: Would you like to color your lion? This works best if you use two different shades of brown: a light brown and a dark brown. Otherwise, you can also use yellow for the body. If you use colored pencils, you can then easily paint a thin layer over the yellow with a brown. So you can get a nice light brown.
