One of the Bravest Dog Breeds – the German Boxer
The Boxer is a stocky yet very agile dog with a long history. The first boxer club was founded in Munich in 1895.
One of the direct ancestors of this dog breed is the Brabant Bullenbeisser. These dogs were supposed to grab and hold the hunted game like bears or wild boars until the hunters came and killed the prey.

Normally, these dogs reach a height of 53-63 cm and a weight between 25 and 30 kg.
Coat & Color
The coat is smooth, shiny, and short. Coat color varies from reddish-brown to almost yellow solid or brindle.

The Boxer is by nature quite stormy, energetic, and spirited. It is courageous, loyal, and absolutely reliable.

Suitability
The German Boxer is a very good protection dog, but it is also suitable as a rescue dog, sporting dog, and companion dog.
More and more often he is bought as a family dog and is also excellently suited for this.
He is very affectionate with children as well as with his peers.
Posture & Outlet
The Boxer should preferably be kept in a house with a garden, but he is also suitable for apartment keeping, provided he has enough exercise.
These dogs need regular exercise and exercise, during which they can really romp around. You can also take your dog with you when jogging or cycling.

Boxers live on average between 10 and 12 years.
