#10 In 1652, Cromwell banned the export of wolfhounds. But by 1780, the last wolf was killed in the British Isles, and the main role of the legendary old breed was lost.However, with wolfhounds, they continued to hunt moose, deer, bears and other large animals.

#12 The extraordinary growth and strength of the Irish wolfhound amazed the imagination of many. In 1694, the naturalist Ray wrote: “Of all the dogs I have come across, the largest is the Irish wolfhound, even larger than the molossus.”
