Do Poodles Get Along With Cats?

#10 Your poodle should get plenty of exercise

If this is your first time owning a poodle, you'll quickly discover that these little dogs pack a lot of power. So take them out regularly. Preferably twice a day.

#11 Create hiding places for your cat

You can create hiding spots by rearranging your furniture, adding cat shelves, or buying cat caves. There are all sorts of sizes and colors.

Importantly, these hiding spots must be out of your poodle's reach. It is best to place it slightly elevated on a cupboard or higher up on a shelf.

#12 Separate areas

Both animal species – dogs and cats – are territorial animals. They mark and defend their territory. Therefore, both must have a space that belongs only to them.

If they are allowed to stay together anywhere else in the house and get together, everyone still needs their own area.

For example, everyone should have their area where they get their food. And there should also be a respective water bowl. Their beds should also be in these areas.

Giving the cat and poodle different areas to claim makes them feel at home.
