Buffalo: What You Should Know

Buffalo is called several types of cattle. They belong either to a specific genus in Africa or to a specific genus in Asia. Sometimes the American bison is also considered to be a buffalo. He is also called “Indian buffalo”. There are other species that belong to the buffalo. But it depends a lot on how you look at it scientifically.

African and Asian buffalo is not only distinguished by the continent. In most African buffalo, the horn curves downward, at least where it grows out of the head. In the Asiatic buffalo, it is bent upwards there.

The buffalo mainly eat grass. They, therefore, like to live in open landscapes. The females and young form herds that can be very small, but also incredibly large. The males usually live together in small groups.
