#8 From the 16th century, the written testimony of the priest Edmund Hogan has been preserved, in which it is noted that there are very tall dogs in Ireland – greyhounds, used to hunt wolves and deer.
The hunting of 1561 is mentioned, when about 200 wolfhounds were released into a herd of deer.
#9 In 1641, wolfhounds were sent to France to Cardinal Richelieu as gifts, and in 164b to Italy to the Duke of Tuscany.
At that time, the wolfhound became a traditional valuable offering to many monarchs from different countries.
