15+ historiese feite oor West Highland White Terriers wat jy dalk nie ken nie

#7 By the end of the 19th century, in three small towns in western Scotland, several Scottish clan leaders began to breed exactly the white breed of these dogs.

#8 The official founder of the modern West Highland White Terrier breed is considered to be Edward Donald Malcolm, 16th Laird from Poltalloch.

According to legend, he accidentally shot a brindle-colored terrier, mistaking him for a fox. After this incident, he decided to breed terriers of a white color, which later became known as the Poltalloh Terrier.

#9 In 1903, Malcolm announced that he did not want to be considered the founder of a new breed, and renamed the terriers he bred. The term West Highland White Terrier first appears in the Otters and Otter Hunting Yearbook Published by L.C.R. Cameron, published 1908.
