21 Essential Training Tips for Labrador Owners

#16 Join a Labrador Facebook group or other network

Find a Labrador group on Facebook that talks about parenting and issues, not just posting nice photos. Learn from the problems and tips of others.

The team spirit and cooperation are often really remarkable.

These groups give you a combination of experience and knowledge that you don't get from training CDs or videos.

Join a group and start participating. Comment on posts and feel free to ask your questions. You will be surprised how helpful people are.

#17 Find a local Labrador/Retriever club

While the Facebook group is a great place to start, nothing beats hands-on experience with a mentor. A local club is an incredible resource. And it's fun to socialize with other Labrador owners.

#18 Find a dog coach

If you have the feeling that you cannot cope with the training alone or with the tips of others or that this is not enough, look for a dog coach. You can also book him at longer intervals and continue the training in between. If there is a major problem, you can always book a few hours again.
