The Bolognese (sometimes also called the Bolognese) is a small, fluffy companion dog whose warm nature and calm disposition make him a great friend for life – especially for older or not very active people.

#1 Originally from beautiful Italy, the Bolognese was particularly widespread in the city of Bologna, although the breed did not originate there.

#2 It most likely goes back to a small dog breed that was already known in ancient Greece and was also mentioned by the Greek philosopher Aristotle (384 – 322 BC) as “canes melitensis” (Latin for “Maltese dogs”) found.

#3 They are therefore closely related to the Maltese, the Havanese and the Bichon Frize, which they still look like today.
