One of the prejudices against Chihuahuas, for example, is the image as a lap dog.
They are also often said to be spoiled, barking, and nervous dogs.
Various celebrities who treat their Chihuahuas more like fashion accessories than dogs have contributed to the formation of this negative reputation.
The animals like to bark, but not because they are nervous, but because they want to get attention.
With a consistent upbringing, however, the dogs neither become “permanent barkers” nor spoiled lap animals. Chihuahuas are natural dogs that like to be outside, romp, and play.
