The Cane Corso lives an average of 10 to 12 years. Health problems are hardly known, but there are some diseases that are typical of large dog breeds. These include joint problems such as hip dysplasia (HD) and elbow dysplasia (ED) and heart muscle disease. Eye problems such as conjunctivitis are also more common but can be prevented by regular eye checks. Basically, this breed is considered to be very robust and athletic.
#1 This breed is for you if you like a big, scary looking dog with a sweet disposition.
Part of the Mastiff family, the Cane Corso originally hails from Italy where it worked as a farm dog.
#2 This muscular pooch is very active and playful, but needs a firm hand to guide her and keep her worst impulses at bay.
#3 This dog makes a great family pet and can do well with children and other dogs if owners are careful.
That being said, this is a breed not recommended for beginners.
