#10 In 1987, Dr. Antonio Morsiane drew up the first official breed standard and presented it to the Italian Kennel Society.

The famous manufacturer Basir (Bazir) was taken as a reference in drawing up the standard. The standard was very detailed, and the main focus was on the difference between the Cane Corso and the Napoletano Mastino.

#11 In 1988, judges Morsiana, Mario Perricone and Guido Vandone examined more than 50 dogs at dog shows in Milan, Florence and Bari.

#12 In 1989 the Board of Directors of the Italian Kennel Club established the “Open Breed Book”, in which over 500 dogs (561) were registered in 1989-1992, meeting the Cane Corso standard.
