#1 It has been officially known as the “German Pinscher” since the 19th century. This (hunting) dog, which was originally used for pest control, has hardly changed in appearance since then.
#2 The Pinscher is a very old breed that was first mentioned in the German Dog Register in 1880.
However, very little is known about its exact origin.
