#11 The dog is considered the ancestor of the breed – Barry v. Herzogenbuchsee, which Franz Schertenleib found in Dürbach in 1908 and presented at an exhibition in 1909.

Barry was recognized as the standard of the breed, and several litters of puppies were received from him.

#12 In 1912, these dogs were recognized by SKG as an independent breed, contributing to the 12th volume of the Swiss studbook.
