#7 Among the members of this society was the Bagust family, which made a very large contribution to the improvement of the Australian Shepherd Dog breed.

#8 From 1893 Harry Bagust (1860-1914) noted that the breed needed further improvements.

The Halls Hiller dogs were inoculated with the blood of a Dalmatian. Further, the breed began to improve through an experiment with the addition of Australian Kelpies to the dingo.

#9 The resulting dogs had an extraordinary color, not found in any other breed, and the breed was named “blue healer”. Blue Healers were the ancestors of the modern Australian healer we have today.
