The Pyrenees Mountain Dog – also known by the names Chien de Montagne des Pyrénées or Patou – is a very powerful dog. Despite its enormous size, this working dog, which is one of the livestock guardian dogs, is a very loving, gentle, pleasant, and sociable four-legged friend.
On the Spanish side of the Pyrenees lives its related Pyrenean Mastiff, the Mastín del Pirineo, which differs only slightly from the French Pyrenees Mountain Dog.
