Because pugs are very popular dogs, you can still see them scurrying across the screen in numerous other films: In the hit series Friends, Pheobe is given a pug puppy, which she has to part with shortly afterward in order to understand what it means would give her child away. Also in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug you can briefly see two pugs running through the picture.
