There are no clear sources that prove the exact origin of the Chihuahua. In any case, it is a very old breed of dog that must have originated on the American continent. The Techichi is assumed to be its forerunner, a small dog of the Toltecs and Aztecs that originally lived in the wild and was then domesticated.
